PICTURES FROM OUR SUPPORTING HEROES
ROADBLOCK HELD ON 10/13/2007

On Saturday, October 13th, 2007, a special fundraising event was held to support the efforts of SUPPORTING HEROES. Public safety agencies from across Indiana and Kentucky held “boot drives” (or “roadblocks”) and other events to raise money to support the families of fallen public safety heroes.

The goals of this event were:

  • Raise badly needed funds to support the families of Indiana’s and Kentucky’s fallen public safety heroes

  • Increase awareness of the service and sacrifice of public safety personnel

  • Increase awareness of the importance of supporting families of the fallen

Robinson Lodge #266 in conjunction with Highland Park #865, Boaz Lodge #850 and St. Matthews Fire Department sponsored a Road Block to help raise badly needed funds for the Supporting Heroes Organization.

We sat up at Taylorsville Road and Hurstbourne Lane at 10am on Saturday, October 13, 2007. We were blessed with wonderful weather, and the event was a fantastic success, and it was a true delight to have taken part in such a wonderful program that raised money to help the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

We would like to thank the following agencies for their help and participation:

  • St. Matthews Fire District for providing the boots to collect with.
  • Okolona Fire District for providing the traffic vests.
  • Mall St. Matthews Security (Brother Master Masons) for providing the traffic cones.

ROBINSON, HIGHLAND PARK AND BOAZ LODGE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE 2007 SUPPORTING HEROES ORGANIZATION FUNDRAISING DRIVE WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! A TOTAL OF $1,813.56 WAS RAISED COLLECTIVELY BY OUR THREE LODGES ALONE, AND OVER $30,000 WAS RAISED THROUGHOUT KENTUCKY AND INDIANA!

Bro. Bob Tally from Boaz Lodge, and Chief William J. Seng of the St. Matthews Fire Department, take a much needed break.

Freemasonry is truly a family organization, as the wife of Bro. Patrick Montague demonstrates by collecting money as well.

Bro. Patrick Montague, of Robinson Lodge, and Bro. Carl Garrett, WM of Highland Park Lodge, man each direction of the road.

Bro. Carl Garrett, WM of Highland Park Lodge, mans the intersection. It was a long day, but it was worth it.

Bro. Bill Wise still walks the line! Traffic was busy, as were those collecting.
Everyone had an opportunity to donate. The reason we were there - to say THANKS!

Chief William J. Seng, of the St. Matthews Fire Department, seems to be crowded.
